Review: Real Techniques (Powder and Expert Face Brush)

The other day I purchased my very first Real Techniques brushes and I now understand the hype. I decided to get the Expert Face Brush and the Powder Brush, I knew I would get the most use out of these two as I would need them for my everyday make up routine.  These are so gorgeous and amazing to use, they are so light and fluffy to use but do everything they are supposed to. I use the expert face brush to blend in my foundation and I have never before had such a natural finish, then I apply my Rimmel Powder Stay Matte in Transparent  with the powder brush (how cliché is this post haha). The main thing is if you were thinking of purchasing these brushes, go for it, they are insanely good!

Birthday Haul

So if you didn't know it was my birthday on August 10th (Saturday) and besides work it is one of the many reasons I haven't put up blog posts as recently in the last few days, sorry. Anyway above is pretty much an overlook of my day. I had work in the morning and then went out for lunch with my parents and sister, we went to a local pub which has a lovely garden and a super nice menu which changes quite often so you can have something different. After this I went to see more family and then headed out with three friends and had a BBQ in the park, I also got to see fireworks later on as it was carnival day too!

These are all my birthday gifts so I will work top to bottom. The first is an over-the-shoulder leather bag with different coins all over the front, I was given this by my Nan and I was also given some money towards my provisional driving license which I am very grateful for. Next down is (bits from my parents) two books, I have wanted The Teen Vogue Handbook for awhile now and I spotted the Photocrafty book in Urban Outfitters and thought it was a great DIY book for photographers, plus it's something I will actually give a go! After that I was given a whole bunch of Hello Kitty bits and bobs and to albums I have been dying for which are The Lumineers and Modern Vampires of the City, by Vampire Weekend.

When I had this little BBQ in the park my best friend gave me this awesome box full of goodies. Which included all of these sweets, a beautiful dreamcatcher (as I've wanted one for ages) and a beautiful necklace which is my birthstone! I love everything she gave me and I know they are all very thoughtful gifts. Last but not least my manager at my job gave me a £25 Topshop voucher which I thought was incredibly sweet of them. I love all of my presents and want to say a great thank you to everyone!

Liebster Award

I have been tagged by Freya's Fashion Chapter and Elouisee to do the Liebster Award. This is supposed to help promote blogs with under 200 followers. So I will be answering the questions from Jenny's blog and then I will ask 10 questions and tag 10 other blogs!

1. What inspired you to start a blog?
I guess YouTube started it off but I don't like the idea of a vlog so a blog was ideal for me. To get my own opinions of items I buy to help others, I often research things before I buy them so if I could be of any help to other people in that situation I would love to.

2. Are you an impulse buyer?
No, normally I would research and have a look around at what I want to buy. However if there is some kind of deal on I'm always swayed by the money off.

3. If you could change one thing about yourself what would it be?
I wish I could be slimmer, not by all that much, but a teeny weeny bit.

4. What is the proudest moment of your life?
Oh gee I don't know, it's not really the 'proudest moment' but I am really into photography and when I take an image I really like and compare it to an old photo it makes me happy to see how much I've learnt and changed.

5. What is your most prized possession?
My camera (Canon 1100D). I have been into photography for a good few years now and really wanted a DSLR, however as we all know they are a bit pricey. I waited around 2 years to get one for my birthday and I have not stopped loving it.

6. Do your family and friends know about your blog?
Yeah!

7. What is the last film and book you read, were they any good?
The last film I watched was 'We Need To Talk About Kevin' it was a really odd and kind of scary movie, but overall I would definitely recommend it. The last book I read was 'The Woman In Black', I have seen this in theatre and then at the cinema and thought it was time to read the book and honestly I was not disappointed, just don't read it before bed.

8. If you could meet one famous band who would it be?
Probably Mumford & Sons, I love their music so much and they are amazing live, who wouldn't want to meet them?

9. What is you favourite fashion and beauty brand?
Fashion would have to be Topshop and Beauty would be Rimmel.

10. Name one thing you could not live without.
Face wash, because it really awakens me in the morning and also makes me feels so refreshed!

My 10 nominees;

10 Questions;
1. Why did you start a blog?
2. What celebrity inspires your look most and why?
3. If you could only shop in one highstreet store for the rest of your life, where would it be?
4. If you could meet any famous person, dead or alive, who would it be and why?
5. What is your dream job?
6. What is your favourite movie and why?
7. What is your music guilty pleasure?
8. What is your overall most go to beauty product?
9. What is your favourite foundation and why?
10. What is your favourite food?

I hope you enjoyed this post, also please take a look at those who I tagged.

Mini Haul (From My Trip To Brighton)

Here are some of the bits I picked up whilst in Brighton! First off all the photo frames (Urban Outfitters), these were probably my best buy and I love them. I have been looking for some for a while but these are just right, plus they were all in the sale for either £3/£4. Then I got the necklaces from River Island and I just know these will go with my wardrobe so well, plus they were in the sale. After that is the badges, flower pens and bunny which were all from Tiger, none of which were over £5. The last thing are the earrings which were from Primark and cost £3. I didn't spend too much whilst in Brighton and I'm happy I restricted myself to these items. I hope you enjoyed reading this.

What's In My Bag

At the moment this is what is most regular in my bag. I picked up this bag a few days ago in my local Topshop sale, it was down from £34 to £10 and so I picked it up straight away. I'm normally more of a stripes kind of girl but I thought why not give the polka dots a go! In here I have my purse which was from Joules and it is absolutely amazing, I haven't had it more than a few months but it truly is a lovely purse. Then I have my phone and a Fujifilm disposable camera. I have my sunglasses in this bright little H&M case (to keep them scratch free), as it has been relatively sunny for England lately. Last but not least I have my Soap & Glory 'Mist You Madly' body spray, this is absolutely gorgeous and is great for on the go. I hope you've enjoyed my sneak peak into my bag.
