Nail Polish Collection - Spring Clean 2016

Hello,

I have a rather big nail polish collection, not massive but more than one girl needs, or uses for that matter. I've just started a new job which doesn't include washing up, which means I can now enjoy the luxury of wearing nail polish on a daily basis.

I started by laying them all out in front of me. I knew which ones I love and which ones work all the time, so they went straight back into the basket. The the rest of them I left on my desk, I'd try them on see if I liked the colour and application and then wear them for a few days to see if they lasted.

It took maybe two weeks to get through them all, plus I made my mum get involved with the nail polish testing which sped things up.

These are a few that I have decided to get rid of, I'm going to offer them to friends and family (I don't just want to chuck them in the bin). It's mainly down to the colours, I am really pale so anything to dark or too pale makes me look quite ill, not many neutral colours suit my hands either. A few of them had either gone tacky (which did end up in the bin) and some of them didn't last well.

This is just a few that I am left with, I like having bright colours or sparkly colours that draw attention, nothing to bright but enough that is noticeable.

I've kept a few muted pinks like the Barry M Matte nail paint in Vanilla, which is one of my absolute favourite colours. But colours like this can look casual and also so classy.

I'm no expert with nail polish and I am looking to try more colours and brands. I find that with models own (for example) there are some colours I love and some I dislike down to the formula. One brand that I would highly recommend is Kiko, they are so cheap, easy to apply and last a lifetime.

Top 3 High Waisted Jeans 2016

Hello,

Finding the right jeans is a tough one. Everyone has individual styles, body shapes and activities that need to fit with their jean criteria. Lately I've been wearing high waisted jeans, they're comfy and they are easy to style up or down. I've narrowed my favourites down to three, I hope this will help in your hunt for the perfect jeans.
Top 3 Highwaisted Jeans 2016
3. Primark High Waisted Jeans, I think these retail at £10 however they have plenty of variations.

These jeans definitely rival No. 2 (Topshop Joni Jeans). Firstly the are cheap as hell, no one can complain about their price. They are very true to size and are stretchy. The only reasons I've put these at No. 3 is because they can stretch and not ping back, my black jeans have faded considerably and the back pockets hang low so they can make your bum look less perky.

2. Topshop MOTO Joni Jeans, £36.

These are very similar to No. 3. They aren't as stretchy (which could be a pro or con) but this does mean they are sturdier. They don't wear through as quickly as the Primark versions, although they can fade and start to bag, my last pair lasted me a good year and a half.

1. ASOS Rivington High Waisted Denim Jeggings, £26

These jeans were the best recommendation I have ever received. Sturdy and stretchy in all the right places, loads of colours that don't fade and well placed pockets. Plus I am more happy to spend £36 on a better quality, more comfortable trouser.

Autumn Wishlist 2015

Autumn Wishlist 2015

Hello,

Today I thought I would do a post I haven't done in a while which is my autumn wishlist, I love reading other peoples and also they are so fun to make!

  1. This is a bit peculiar for me. It is Benefits new-ish 'Theyr're Real! Push Up Liner' in purple. I have wanted to try colourful eyeliner for ages which started with LLYMLRS rocking a coloured eye, Then I watched a video where Hello October used a navy eyeliner to contrast her orange lip and I was in love.

I love dark purples and cranberry shades around this time of year and seeing as I have green eyes I feel a purple liner would be perfect for me!
  2.  I have been lusting over these Topshop black dungarees for what seems like months now. They just look some comfy.
  3. I have noticed that the eyebrow makeup I've been using lately is just the drips and drabs of what I have previously chucked back into my make up draw. After asking a mua friend they mentioned the ELF eyebrow kit to me, which I have previously owned and loved. Plus it's just so cheap for only £3
  4. I was nervous to mention this product and to purchase it, all because of the Limecrime scandal. However it seems to have all died down now and also this colour just looks perfect for me. I've wanted to try a velvetine for a long time and when I came along this colour 'riot'.... well I just don't think I can resist.
  5. At this time of year all I think about is cuddling up in a blanket, fresh pjs and some comfy socks. Which brings me too pyjamas. I've been looking around for some for a while and I can't seem to find the right ones. These Chelsea Peers pyjamas are quite pricey but don't they just look dreamy?
  6. I know I know, Halloween is over. But this will never stop me from loving pumpkins; the taste, the colour, the smell. These pumpkin earrings just look perfect and cute.
  7. I understand, these pom pom keyrings are just everywhere. This is just one fad I cannot resist, I also love adding texture to items in my bag so I know what I'm searching for. I think this dark green pom pom is the perfect autumn colour.
  8. Last but not least phone cases. I have wanted to have a new case for my phone for a while now as any I have either look too childish or are falling apart. I've seen Skinndip raved about so many times and I think it might be time to take the plunge. I really love the look of the Dinosaur or Krusty Print iPhone 5 cases. So cute.
I hope you enjoyed reading this post,
bye for now!

Topshop Lip Paint Review

Hi,

Today I'm going to do a review on the Topshop lip paints in the colours Tallulah and Reminisce.  These were something I saw in the sale a few months ago so though I would give them a go, the colours looked nice and they were only a couple of pounds.

I fell in love with the colour Tallulah (the red) straight away as it looked like my kind of red, yknow? Unfortunately the formula wasn't what I was looking for, the colour came out patchy and parts would dry and others wouldn't. The dofer applicator also makes such a bold colour hard to apply as any mistakes will show up. The peachy pink colour, Reminisce, wasn't much different. Although mistakes weren't as visible.

The staying power was short lived and the colour transferred onto everything. Where parts didn't dry hair or fluff would stick.

I really wanted to love these as they were so cute and the packaging was on-the-go worthy, plus I got them for super cheap. Sadly these just didn't work for me but maybe they will work for you.

July Wishlist 2014

July Wishlist 2014
I'm going to try and do a wishlist at the start of every month, at the moment there isn't much I would like in materialistic matters. Especially seeing as it is coming up to summer I'd rather spend my money on days out. The first three things are music, something I spend a lot of my summer listening to whilst relaxing.

Then there are the Barry M nail varnishes. I already own one which I bought in the autumn so the summer isn't very summery, but I absolutely adore the formula. They matte ones dry super quickly and don't budge for 5 days (on me is pretty good as I wash up a lot at work). However compared to my other colour these are a lot brighter and are way more summery.

I have then added in the l'oreal super liner. I'm on the prowl for a new eyeliner as I still haven't found 'the one'. I have heard many good things about this one though so I thought I'd give it a go. Carrying on with make up is the Bourjois Bronzing Primer. Something I have heard a lot about and I am just really intrigued.

Last but not least the very popular Juju Jelly shoes. I have wanted to get some of these since last summer but I just never got round to it.I think they are really playful but seeing as there is a small heal they will also help define your legs, I really want to get my hands on a pair!

Maybelline Colossal Volume Review

This is possibly my favourite mascara, besides Benefits 'They're real'. Let's be honest though paying £19.50 for They're Real isn't always the cheapest of options, so this is my next best. Maybelline Colossal volume express is amazing for just £7.19. It get right into your lashes with no clumping and no transfer or crumbling. It lasts me all day (which is normally from around 7am to 9pm) with no problems whatsoever. In a mascara I look to make my eyelashes more voluminous more that anything else and you will definitely find it in this. I have also used the waterproof one before which is amazing for any soggy scenario. The packaging is good, screw on so no leakages and bright so I can always find it straight away.

Safe to say this is my high-street go to mascara... for now.

Bonjour

So it seems I have been a little absent lately, sorry about that! There could be a thousand excuses I could make up but what's the point, I'll give you some updates then I will try my best to get into a routine again!

Where do I begin? The most exciting thing would have to be my car! Yes I have completed one of my New Years resolutions and bought myself a car, how cool.

Talking of New Years resolutions I have also pulled myself together and joined the gym which I am thoroughly enjoying.

Not much else has gone on from my last upload to now. Something which I have been doig very frequently is buying and selling on depop, it's so addictive!

I've been requested to do a few more beginners make up looks, plus if like to do some tutorial of my own. Plus some reviews which I want to share with you all! Anyway, I will get on it and start posting as often as I can, thanks for sticking by!

Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr Eyeshadow in Pink Gold Review

Hiya!

To begin with I'm sorry about how dirty the pot is haha! Anyway other than that I am so very in love with this product. It's a really creamy eyeshadow that I use alone or as a base. It's a really pale pink with a slight sheen, it's really girl and delicate which is why I love it so much. The formula doesn't crease one bit and stays all day! I use this completely alone some days or I also use eyeliner, it just goes well with so much. Not only that but the packaging is very cute yet convenient. It's sturdy with a glass base so you can see the product, however it has a screw n lid too so no spillage or mess. I cannot rave about this product enough and I really want to get more colours. This is in Pink Gold and is subtle enough for everyday and probably even school.

Thanks,

Go & Glow Highlighter Review

Hi! Here I have a cream highlighter from the Look beauty range, I picked this up as I want to try out some new highlight products and it was half price (£5), so I couldn't resist. It's a product where a lot goes a long way, so I'm sure this product will last me a long time. However this does mean be careful or you could end up looking way too shiny!

It looks great on your cheekbones, temples, inner eye corner, under your brows or cupid bow. I use it to brighten up my face as I can look very dull in winter, so this will be a good all year round product. The packaging is good, very slim and a screw on lid so no leakage. The actual design is a bit basic but hey, when is minimalism not in right? I am very happy with this product and I might even re-purchase.

Thank you,

Asos Haul #1

I saw there was a little sale over on Asos and I couldn't resist. My first buy (the reason I was actually on Asos) was a clutch bag. I've never owned one and when ever I go out I feel like a fool carrying a bulky bag, so I wanted something that would go with a lot and that was a good size. This is actually from New Look and because it's holographic it goes with so many of my outfits! It was originally £12.99 but I got it for £9.50 and I am not disappointed. Now I'm not one to buy nail varnish but I did one some go to colours for parties and the winter, plus I am a fan of the Models Own range. These were both £4, the purple is called Pukka Purple and the off-white-lilac is Utopia. Last but not least this gorgeous necklace from Fashionology, I only have one long necklace and it's bronze, so I wanted a silver and I fell in love. This was a great bargain too, originally £26 and I got it for £8!

OOTD feat. Colour

Today I am going to do something a bit different. Here is something bright and colourful, not the usual, normally I'm in black or white, so time to step out of your comfort zone. Here Emilie is wearing a pink floor length dress from Topshop, it was down to £10 in my local store but unfortunately I cannot find it online any more. It was a bit chilly out so we covered this dress with a jumper from H&M (which was £14.99). This has been paired with a black pair of JuJu Black Heeled Sanadals which are £25. The flower crown is from Roses & Clementines and the butterfly necklace was from Accessorize a long time ago.  All together I like this outfit and how everything has come together. If you are interested in my photographs you can take a look over on my Flickr page.

Thank you
