Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick Review - Gemini & Redrum

Hiya,

Today I will be talking about the liquid lipsticks released by Jeffree Star. These aren't old news by any means but I've never tried them and don't know anyone who has!

I follow Jeffree Star on instagram and always ogle at his products, wondering if I should pay the price to get one. It isn't so much the cost of the lipsticks which is expensive, but the overall price adds up once you add the postage too.

I have ordered one before in the shade androgyny, I applied it once and it didn't suit me (or look like any other swatches I had seen before). I packaged it straight back up and sold it on.

When I saw they were releasing more colours a couple of months ago I new it I wanted to get my hands on the shade Gemini.

I know these are quite popular so I was prepared on my laptop at 6pm (maybe it was 8pm I can't really remember), I was able to put Gemini in my basket straight away and I grabbed Redrum on a whim.

They took 2 weeks to get here which wasn't bad, I know that it was at the same time the warehouse was broken into too.

The packaging is absolutely gorgeous and is great for on the go.

It has a curved doupher applicator, which gives a dreamy application. The application is also super smooth greatly due to the creamy formula too. The colours are both super opaque and stay on for hours, as long as you don't eat anything oily. Plus reapplying them is easy, no lumps or bumps like some other liquid lipsticks I've tried.

Gemini (left), Redrum (right)

It has amazing staying power but it isn't a task to get off, I just use my normal micellar water and it's off in a jiffy.

I'll definitely be on the lookout for a lighter shade in the collection.

What's your favourite liquid lipstick?

Proactiv+ 8 Week Progress | AD

Here is my last update on my 8 week experience with Proactiv+ Deluxe Core Kit.

I was very excited when I first received this and having a routine was really nice and relaxing. It smells really good too.

However I didn't seem to gain anything from this in terms of my skin. I have had a really oily t-zone since using this and like I said in my last post it meant I stopped using all of the steps so frequently. Now my skin is nearly back to it's dry/combination state.

Spots were not a common thing for me, if I ever did get a noticeable one it was rare but it would be big. Once I started using this I would still get the occasional big one but I also got small under the skin and white heads every day around my chin and forehead.

I get that with some skin products it gets worse before it gets better, especially if it is drawing all of the bad bits out. However this product did not agree with me.

I'm still on the search for the right skin care routine.

What skin care products are your favourites?

Jeffree Star Velour Liquid Lipstick Release - April 2016

Hello,

I don't know if you have ever heard of a Velour Liquid Lipstick, but they are meant to be amazing!

I actually managed to get my hands on 'Androgyny' when it was first released and I was so excited, but the colour did not suit me at all unfortunately.

Anyway a day or two ago Jeffree Star uploaded this sneak peek of his new launch, so yesterday at 6pm GMT I was hooked on my laptop and ready to buy Redrum. I was interested to see the secret colour but I didn't want to make the same mistake I did with Androgyny and not be able to see a swatch and decide if I wanted it or not. I don't always find the one photo on the website helpful so I like to go on Google and look at it on a variety of people.

I was on the website straight away and was able to put Redrum into my basket, I waited a few minutes for the secret colour but I couldn't see it so I just went ahead with the one.

I am so excited to get it through the post and let you know what I think of it!

What's in my Z Palette

Hello,

Being the make up hobby-ist that I am I've always kept my eye on the Z Palette, a magnetic palette to depot any pan products you have. I have bought the black Z Palette in a large, it's a really good size and still good for travelling.

I originally bought it with the intention of buying some makeup geek eye shadows that I have had my eyes on for a while. Once I had bought it and thought about what I wanted to do with it I realised that I could really downsize my collection, so if I had a eyeshadow palette where I only used two colours I would just remove those two colours and put them in my Z Palette.

This is what it looks like, a little messy I know...

The top row, starting from the left are 3 Nyx eyeshadows then the 7 round eyeshadows are from Collection palettes.

The bottom right pan is a Stila eyeshadow and the pink pan is a Soap & Glory.

Then on the right I have a Sleek blush and Benefit Hoola Bronzer.

This is great for staying away as it has everything I need without carrying around what would have been 6 different palettes

I hope you enjoyed this little tour around my Z Palette!

Autumn Wishlist 2015

Autumn Wishlist 2015

Hello,

Today I thought I would do a post I haven't done in a while which is my autumn wishlist, I love reading other peoples and also they are so fun to make!

  1. This is a bit peculiar for me. It is Benefits new-ish 'Theyr're Real! Push Up Liner' in purple. I have wanted to try colourful eyeliner for ages which started with LLYMLRS rocking a coloured eye, Then I watched a video where Hello October used a navy eyeliner to contrast her orange lip and I was in love.

I love dark purples and cranberry shades around this time of year and seeing as I have green eyes I feel a purple liner would be perfect for me!
  2.  I have been lusting over these Topshop black dungarees for what seems like months now. They just look some comfy.
  3. I have noticed that the eyebrow makeup I've been using lately is just the drips and drabs of what I have previously chucked back into my make up draw. After asking a mua friend they mentioned the ELF eyebrow kit to me, which I have previously owned and loved. Plus it's just so cheap for only £3
  4. I was nervous to mention this product and to purchase it, all because of the Limecrime scandal. However it seems to have all died down now and also this colour just looks perfect for me. I've wanted to try a velvetine for a long time and when I came along this colour 'riot'.... well I just don't think I can resist.
  5. At this time of year all I think about is cuddling up in a blanket, fresh pjs and some comfy socks. Which brings me too pyjamas. I've been looking around for some for a while and I can't seem to find the right ones. These Chelsea Peers pyjamas are quite pricey but don't they just look dreamy?
  6. I know I know, Halloween is over. But this will never stop me from loving pumpkins; the taste, the colour, the smell. These pumpkin earrings just look perfect and cute.
  7. I understand, these pom pom keyrings are just everywhere. This is just one fad I cannot resist, I also love adding texture to items in my bag so I know what I'm searching for. I think this dark green pom pom is the perfect autumn colour.
  8. Last but not least phone cases. I have wanted to have a new case for my phone for a while now as any I have either look too childish or are falling apart. I've seen Skinndip raved about so many times and I think it might be time to take the plunge. I really love the look of the Dinosaur or Krusty Print iPhone 5 cases. So cute.
I hope you enjoyed reading this post,
bye for now!

Maybelline Colour Tattoo 24hr Eyeshadow in Pink Gold Review

Hiya!

To begin with I'm sorry about how dirty the pot is haha! Anyway other than that I am so very in love with this product. It's a really creamy eyeshadow that I use alone or as a base. It's a really pale pink with a slight sheen, it's really girl and delicate which is why I love it so much. The formula doesn't crease one bit and stays all day! I use this completely alone some days or I also use eyeliner, it just goes well with so much. Not only that but the packaging is very cute yet convenient. It's sturdy with a glass base so you can see the product, however it has a screw n lid too so no spillage or mess. I cannot rave about this product enough and I really want to get more colours. This is in Pink Gold and is subtle enough for everyday and probably even school.

Thanks,

Rimmel Wake Me Up Instant Radiance Shimmer Touch in Radiant Rose Review

Hi! So I found this in my nearest poundland and I just had to try it out, I love the Brand Rimmel and their Wake Me Up range so why not give this a whizz. This is a really subtle summery colour that illuminates your face, as I'm sure the Wake Me Up range is supposed to. It has a super creamy and light formula which blends so easily and effortlessly. The packaging is quite straight forward but handy, it has a screw on cap so no leakages and has a squeezy tube so you can get even the last drop out. I am happy with this however I don't tend to reach for it too much as it can spoil my foundation a little. I don't think I would re purchase it right not but when summer comes along I have a feeling I may change my mind as it will suit my make up routine a lot better then.

Go & Glow Highlighter Review

Hi! Here I have a cream highlighter from the Look beauty range, I picked this up as I want to try out some new highlight products and it was half price (£5), so I couldn't resist. It's a product where a lot goes a long way, so I'm sure this product will last me a long time. However this does mean be careful or you could end up looking way too shiny!

It looks great on your cheekbones, temples, inner eye corner, under your brows or cupid bow. I use it to brighten up my face as I can look very dull in winter, so this will be a good all year round product. The packaging is good, very slim and a screw on lid so no leakage. The actual design is a bit basic but hey, when is minimalism not in right? I am very happy with this product and I might even re-purchase.

Thank you,
Poppy x

How Much Is Your Face Worth?

ELF Studio Mineral Infused Face Primer (£6), Rimmel Concealer Wake Me Up (£5.49), ELF Eyelid Primer (£1.50), ELF Under Eye Concealer and & Highlighter (£3.75), Rimmel Stay Matte Pressed Powder (£3.99), MUA Heaven and Earth Palette (£4),  Sleek Face Form Kit (£9.99), Rimmel Gel Liner (£6.49), Eylure Natural Lashes (£5.35), Max Factor Mascara Wild Mega Lash (£4.99), Rimmel Kate Moss Lipstick in Firecracker (5.49) = £57.04

All together I wouldn't say £57.04 was too bad, considering if this was all high end products I would have hit around at least £100! It was around where I was predicting the price would be so I'm not suprised at the outcome.

7 Deadly Sins Of Beauty Tag

Something a bit different from the usual and I'm hoping to do more 'tag' posts in the future. I hope you enjoy!

Greed
What is your most inexpensive beauty item? What is your most expensive?

My most inexpensive beauty item would have to be the MUA lipsticks which are only £1, they are so good for the price it is unbelievable! My most expensive is Look Flawless Fix Beauty Balm in Light, which was £10. Its a really good foundation type base, it matches to my skin colour well too! It's not too thick so it is great for summer.

Wrath
What beauty products do you have a love/hate relationship with? What product has been the hardest to get?

Fake eyelashes, I love how they look but I feel they are too much for my face. Applying them can be tricky too so they are not always my favourite thing to do and I would never use them on a daily basis.

I have really wanted to try Maybellines Baby Lips for ages, but luckily they are coming to the UK really soon!

Gluttony
What are your most delicious beauty products?

Definitely Blistex Raspberry Lemonade Blast, it smells amazing and works so well!

Sloth
What beauty products do you neglect, due to laziness?

Eyelashes again, as I can't be bothered to take the time to stick them on when they just make my eyelids feel heavy.

Pride
What beauty product give you the most confidence?

I would probably say foundation as it covers up any imperfections and makes my skin look more awake, however eye liner always plays a big part as I think it always finishes off my face.

Lust
What attributes do you find most attractive in the opposite sex?

Definitely a nice smile and a caring personality! Oh and respect of course.

Envy
What items would you most like to receive as a gift?

Probably a mac foundation (a red one) as they are always raved about and I can't afford one myself. I also like the Daisy by Marc Jacobs perfume!
